self-service announcement

March 11, 2008 - Leave a Response

as soon as i decide to proceed with the decision to discontinue my formal study of french, i am immediately called upon to use it. ha ha ha.

well, this has reminded me that so as not to allow three years of (by turns hard and slack) study (and money) to go to waste, and as opportunities to legitimately speak the language will be scarce (except for one week when mutu’s french exchange student gets here – should be interesting), i have decided to resort to the cost- and effort- effective method of reading french blogs with lots of pictures.

please let me know if you come across any.

by which all shall know that i have finally begun constructive activity

whenever the time comes to update the cv (a good and bad sign — there’s been a job to add, currently status is unemployed), the part that always makes me cringe most is the “hobbies” section.

this used to be because i had no hobbies.

then, it was because my actual hobbies (shopping, reading) sounded painfully lame.

now, i realise that i don’t really enjoy those activities as much as i thought. however, many of the things that i actually do enjoy (drama serials, stuffing my face, lazing around doing absolutely nothing) would probably nullify my chances of getting selected. therefore, i have not listed them on my cv.

however, in australia, i feel that it should be okay to include “mahjong”. right?

things i like about ‘my’ car (mazda 121 metro)

people always say that at first, you’ll drive anything that has 4 wheels and gets you from point A to point B. then, you need it to look good… then, you need speed, etc. therefore, you keep ‘upgrading’ your car. however, i like the car i’m currently using because:

it doesn’t use much petrol
it’s not too large, but not ridiculously small
it looks tough but not aggressive
it’s high
it has a cd player!
