mind over matter
March 26, 2008

here’s a clip from i’m a cyborg and that’s okay, which i recently watched. the moral of the story is that “normal” people, including mental health professionals, can be more abnormal than the patients, something i find to be increasingly true the older i get.
the first korean lesson of the year went well considering [...]

everybody knows who bruce lee is, right? well, for some reason one day i started thinking about it, and realised that for the life of me i had no idea even whether his movies were in english or canto (as it turns out, they are in both). well, 35 years after the fact, [...]

March 14, 2008

as it turned out, the mango cake was subsequently sequestrated by aunty yin fong, leaving me with a choice of green tea cake or tiramisu. and, since there seems to be a surfeit of chocolate cakes on the increasingly emergent menu, i decided to go for green tea. they still have about 40 hours to [...]

by which all shall know that i have finally begun constructive activity
March 10, 2008

whenever the time comes to update the cv (a good and bad sign — there’s been a job to add, currently status is unemployed), the part that always makes me cringe most is the “hobbies” section.
this used to be because i had no hobbies.
then, it was because my actual hobbies (shopping, reading) sounded painfully lame.
now, [...]

things i like about ‘my’ car (mazda 121 metro)
March 10, 2008

people always say that at first, you’ll drive anything that has 4 wheels and gets you from point A to point B. then, you need it to look good… then, you need speed, etc. therefore, you keep ‘upgrading’ your car. however, i like the car i’m currently using because:
it doesn’t use much petrol
it’s not too large, [...]
